Sumter County Historical Markers

Fl GenWeb
In March and April, 1996, a group of
genealogists organized the Florida
Comprehensive Genealogy Database.
The idea was to provide a single entry
point for all counties in Florida, where
collected databases would be stored.
In addition, the databases would be
indexed and cross-linked, so that even
if an individial were found in more
than one county, they could be located
 in the index.

Old Sumterville Courthouse

The Sumterville Courthouse    that burned in 1909
The courthouse
is now in Bushnell, FL.

Volunteers Needed
We are always in search of help from on-line visitors.  If you can provide information of Sumter County i.e. documents, stories, pictures, or look-up assistance, please notify us via e-mail.
Let me know if there are any links that do not work.  Even though I have tried to be very careful, there may be something I've overlooked....

Comments and suggestions
will be welcomed.

She was a lighthouse in the dark
a sounding board, when we needed one
and an anchor in the storm.
We will miss her wisdom and guidance.
