Drawdy-Rouse Cemetery
The cemetery is located in north central Orange County, north of Union Park, about 1/8
mile from the Seminole County line. It is on Rouse Road between McCulloch Rd to the
north and University Blvd to the South. From Orlando, travel east on E Colonial Dr (SR-50).
After passing through Union Park, turn left (north) onto Rouse Road. Continue on Rouse Road and
cross University Blvd. About 3/4 mile past University Blvd, Drawdy-Rouse cemetery will be on the
left.
This is an old cemetery, established in 1871, presumably by the Drawdy family. Many members of the
family are buried there as well as other pioneer families. This is a privately owned cemetery and is
still active. It is open from dawn till dusk. Many of the headstones are deteriorating rapidly,
particularly, the marble ones which are greatly affected by acidic rain. The chain link fence surrounding
the cemetery is overgrown with shrubs and weeds. The only parking is on Rouse Rd, though one can park
inside the cemetery but the drive is unpaved and narrow.
