Gorton DeHaas, Retired Postal Employee, Dies

Gorton DeHaas, 52 year-old retired employee of the local post office, died yesterday at the local hospital.

He came here in 1912 from Tyrone, Pa., with his parents, who were among the first settlers of Pinellas Park. They built the home at 6014 Park boulevard, where DeHaas resided at the time of his death.

He was an elder, a trustee and teacher of the men’s Bible class at Pinellas Park Presbyterian church.

The wife, Mrs. Jean Soult DeHaas, survives.

Services will be held at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon at the Pinellas Park Presbyterian church with the Rev. Charles Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park cemetery, with the Palms Memorial in charge of arrangements. Source: St. Petersburg Times: 6-5-1947
