Steamboats On The Oklawaha

When my family came to Florida, they traveled down the St. Johns River settling on the Oklawaha River. My great-grandfather had a clock from one of those old steamboats. I remember it well. It was round  and about eight inches in depth with a glass door and a large key to wind it up. I used to play with it as a child. Eventually it was lost to the family forever. Steamboats were a popular mode of travel in those days. Now you can read about what those excursions were like.
