Clifford E. Herrick
Mr. Clifford E. Herrick died at his home at Crystal River yesterday about noon, where he had been ill for several months. Mr. Herrick was about 58 years of age, and has resided at Crystal River for more than 25 years, and since the death of Mrs. Williams, the first manager of the Dixon Crucible Company’s extensive interests, he has been the manager of that concern, not alone in Crystal River, but in several other places in the state on the Gulf coast. Mr. Herrick was well known all over the state, and had a great many warm friends. He had many strong friends in Ocala who had known him intimately and in a pleasant business way for many years. Mr. Herrick was also the president of the Bank of Crystal River and was connected to many other business enterprises in that thriving community, and no man in that section will be greater missed than he.
Mr. Herrick leaves a widow and one son, Mr. Clifford Herrick, Jr., and one daughter, Miss Eunice Amy Herrick.
The body was laid to rest in the family burial ground at Crystal River at 3 o’clock this afternoon. Messrs. McIver & MacKay both went down to attend the funeral and sent one of the most handsome and expensive caskets that could be had, in which the body was laid to rest. The Star extends its deepest sympathy to the bereaved family and to the community in their great loss.
