O. P. Keller, An Old Citizen, Died Tuesday, There
Tuesday, Sep. 26, at 10:30, O. P. Keller passed from this world into the next. Mr. Keller had been one of Citrus county’s best citizens for over twenty years and had as many friends and as few enemies as any man. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church at this place and a true Christian, always in good spirits and had a kind word or a good joke for everybody. In his home he was a devoted husband and loving father.
His remains were laid to rest in the Crystal River cemetery at 3 p. m. Wednesday.
Note: O. P. Keller was born Oct. 1848 at Orwigsburg, PA, to the parents of Joshua Smith Keller and Elizabeth Miller. He married Elizabeth A. Burton in 1871 and moved to Florida sometime before 1880. Born to this union were six children. He was granted 160 acres of land in Citrus Co., FL on December 19, 1885. His widow is buried in Jacksonville at Oaklawn Cemetery next to her son.
