CITRUS COUNTY, FL GENEALOGY AND HISTORY
FLGenWeb Project, Inc.
LITTLE GIANT" - FORMED IN 1887 FROM HERNANDO COUNTY
|Hi...My name is Linda Flowers and I am your County Coordinator for Citrus County Genealogy and History with the FLGenWeb Project, Inc.. My roots run deep in Florida. My 3rd great grandparents obtained land under the Armed Occupation Act agreeing to fight the Indians for their land. Their first child was killed when the Indians attacked their home while being held in its mothers arms. My great grandparents were married in Citrus County in 1899 and raised their family here. As you can see I have a vested interest in this county as well as Florida in general and will do my best to make this site a delight to visit. Join me in a search for our roots through the history of this county and the genealogy of its people. If you have any comments, suggestions or material you can donate, please contact me. You will be given full credit for anything submitted.|

VALUABLE HISTORIC INFORMATION!
Searching For Your Roots...
BETWEEN THE PAGES
This feature uses newspaper extractions concerning the history and genealogy of the men, women and children who called Citrus County home. This is my way of providing surnames of interest to you...my fellow researcher. Sit back and enjoy the journey through these pages.
It is with the deepest regrets that I inform you of the sad news our president and state coordinator, Fran Smith, has passed away, leaving a void in our hearts. Her dedication to the FLGenWeb Project, Inc. was huge and she spent countless hours with our county coordinators teaching us how to make web pages and just being here for us in every capacity. She will be greatly missed personally, as well as our state coordinator. FLGenWeb Project, Inc. will continue with our new state coordinator, Ray Richard.
