Aeroplane view of Lakeland: "The average temperature of Lakeland, Florida is 74 degrees all year round. This is the metropolis of Polk County and has a permanent population of 25,000.  Being 227 feet above sea level, it is tempered by breezes from the Ocean and the Gulf which are within easy riding distance.  Fishing, bathing, and boating can be enjoyed on the 15 fresh water lakes which lie within the city  limites with a recreational director managing weekly events.  Two eighteen hole golf courses, a public library, air-conditioned first run moving picture houses and a municipal-owned water and electric plant are some of its many advantages."

Singing Tower and its Reflection: "The Singing Tower is located on the highest spot in Florida and is surrounded  by beautiful landscaped grounds - The Sanctuary.  The Tower is built of Florida coquina stone and Georgia pink marble, weight 5,500 tons, and took over 52o years to complete.  It contains one of the largest and finest Carillons in the world, consisting of 71 bells, the smallest weighing 17 pounds, while the largest weighs 12 tons.  This beautiful Sanctuary and wonderful Singing Tower were given to the people by Mr. Edward W. Bok as a symbol of beauty, and as an expression of his tanks to the American Flag.  The place has been rightfully called "The Most Beautiful Spot in America."
