Requests for Volunteer Lookups

We accept requests for lookups in local governmental repositories and in books that may be about Gadsden County or Gadsden County people. The following precautions are offered about the limitations on our volunteers:

The Florida GenWeb Project, Inc. and the Gadsden County, Florida GenWeb policy prohibits lookup volunteers from infringing on copyrights, so please do not ask for large quantities of information, information on multiple people, or photocopies of pages from the books. We will not condone, defend or be held responsible for violations of law committed by said volunteers.

If you own books about Gadsden County and would like to volunteer to look up names in response to queries, please send the name of the book you own and your name and e-mail address to the County Coordinator. Your name and your book will be listed here so that researchers will know what we have available and how to contact you.
Send your queries to Angela Cassidy, County Coordinator.  I am a native of Gadsden County, and am familiar with or own most of the books about Gadsden County and Gadsden County families, so I will answer as many questions as I can until we get some more volunteers.

Ms. Cassidy:
I was hoping you might be able to put me in touch with a lookup volunteer for an obituary for one of my relatives. Looking for Obit for Ada Lees, died Gadsden County 1941. I unfortunately do not know any more details than that. Thanks for your suggestions.

Request for Information

I do not have any information on my father except name and birth and death dates: Paul Ward, DOB March 3, 1922, DOD March 21, 1995. I'm trying to find his lineage. I was told that his father's name was Henry Ward and mother was Jesse Mae Brown (not sure of that). The 1930 Census for Gadsden County has him living in Midway. He was 7 years old at that time and was living with his grandfather, named Ceburn Brown. His parents were not living in the home. There were three brothers also living there: James, Seborn & Henry. Any information would be appreciated.
