Concordia Conference Minutes - 1867

Church of Christ at Concord, Jan. 26th 1867

After preaching by Bro. O. E. McKeown opened conference. Opened the door of the Church for the reception of members. The case of Bro. (Benjamin) Harrison was refered until next conference. Charges were brought against Bro. H. Nazworth and refered to a committee consisting of Bros. I. (Iradell) A. Hall, W. A. Mann, and G. W. Rich. There being no further business, dismissed in order.

Church of Christ at Concord, Feb. 23rd 1867

After Preaching by Bro. McKeown opened conference. Opened the door of the Church for the reception of members when Bro. Laine and wife came forward and was received into the fellowship of the Church. Bros. Benjamin Harrison, W. H. Nazworth & N. T. Kersy were excluded from the fellowship of the Church. There being no further business dismissed in order.

After Preaching by Bro. O. E. McKeown opened conference. Opened the door of the Church for the reception of members. There being no further business dismissed in order.

After Preaching by Bro. Martin opened conference. Opened the door of the Church. Sister Martha McRae was excommunicated from the fellowship of the church for Adultery. There being no further business dismissed in order.

Church of Christ at Concord, June 21st 1867

After Preaching by Bro. Martin opened conference. On motion the Deacons of the Church were appointed Trustees. There being no further business dismissed in order. Sunday night 22nd, opened the door of the Church. Miss Mary Scott came forward and was received for Baptism. Monday 23rd Miss Fannie Scott and Mrs. E. C. Hendry gave in at the water and were Baptised.

Church of Christ at Concord, July 27th 1867

After Preaching By Bro. Martin opened conference. Read proceedings of last meeting. Read Decorum & Covenant. On Motion Bro. Mann a committee of three consisting of Bros. J. C. Mann, Hall, & Kemp were appointed to cite Bro. J. G. Connell to attend next conference for Adultery. There being no further business dismissed in order.

Church of Christ at Concord, Aug 27th 1867

After Preaching by Bro. O. E. McKeown opened conference. Read proceedings of last meeting. Took up the case of J. G. Connell. On (motion of) Bro. Mann he was Excommunicated from the fellowship of the Church. Bros. W. A. Mann & Alex Bowen were elected Delegates to the Association. I. A. Hall and Jourdan Barber Alternates. There being no further business dismissed in order.

After Preaching (by) Bro. O. E. McKeown opened conference. Opened the door of the church. Jim Shelfer colered was Excommunicated from the fellowship of the church. There being no further business Dismissed in order.

Church of Christ at Concord, Dec 21, 1867

After Preaching by Bro. O. E. McKeown opened conference. Opened the door of the Church. Sisters Caroline Reeves & Nancy Truluck were excomm. from the fellowship of the Church for joining another church of a different Faith and order. On motion it was agreed that the members be notified to attend next conference and render in excuses (for) non attendance. There being no further business dismissed in order.
