 LAKELAND - Nellie S. Lewis, 82, died March 15, 2012 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to heart failure. Nellie was born April 20, 1929 in Lakeland, Florida to Otis and Effie Stevens. Mrs. Lewis was employed by the Polk County School Board and taught business classes at Kathleen High School until her retirement. She was a charter member of South Florida Heights, currently known as Highland Park Church of the Nazarene, where she was still active. She also attended Parkview Baptist Church.
 She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. (Bill) Lewis.
 She is survived by her son Billy (Cassie) Lewis, daughter Delenah (fiancee, Bob) Lewis, sister Frankie Stubbs, 4 grandchildren Stacy (Mike) Cobb, Becky (TJ) Meyers, Holly (Shawn) Creach, Kristina Hunt. Also surviving are 6 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
 The family appreciates all the visits, cards and prayers.
 Visitation will be held Tuesday with funeral services to follow at Highland Park Church of the Nazarene.
 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Florida Baptist Children's Home or the Nellie S. Lewis Scholarship Fund at Parkview Baptist Church.
Note: Nellie and William Henry Lewis were married in Polk Co., on April 6, 1947.
