LAKELAND -Frances Fowler passed away peacefully on December 19, 2020, at Lakeland Regional Health Center. She was born on May 20, 1927, in Lakeland to her parents James Helms and Nadine Lee Helms.
 Frances
graduated from Lakeland High School in 1945. After graduation she married the love of her life Jack Fowler and they moved to Miami Springs where she started her career at the Southeastern Tire Company. In 1950, she and Jack welcomed their son, Dan Fowler. 
 Frances had a tremendous love for God's children, so she decided to start a career at Miami Springs,First Baptist Church Preschool and Kindergarten program. She would later become the program's director.
 In 1983, Frances and Jack moved back to Lakeland after Jack retired. Frances continued her love of working with children at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Preschool and in 1985 she decided to take a position at Cleveland Court Elementary. Frances worked at Cleveland Court until she retired at the young age of 88. However, she continued to volunteer in the Media Center until the spring of this year. >Waiting on her in Heaven is her husband Jack whom she was married to for 63 years, Her son; Dan Fowlerher parents and her sisters, Martha Farmer, Alyce Schultz and Virginia Brower. > Frances is survived by her daughter-in-law Julia and her grandsons, Sean and Ian who reside in Dacula, Georgia. 
>Frances is also survived by her nieces, Gaile Mundy, Debbie Hoffman and Sharon Collins and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. They all loved to call her 'Aunt Duke.' A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. LAKELAND - Jack C. Fowler died January 25, 2009 of heart failure. >He is survived by his wife Frances, 1 son, and daughter in law; 2 grandsons and several wonderful nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 29, 2009 from 6-6:30 PM at Heath Funeral Chapel. PENSACOLA - On December 13, 2008, Alyce "Nana" Schultz passed away due to a brief illness with cancer. She was 87 years young (39 and holding by her account). She has been a resident of Pensacola, FL for the past 20 years. Alyce (Nana) has always been an inspiration in perseverance and courage. Taking on the challenge of nursing school at the age of 50 and successfully obtaining her degree as registered nurse. She worked for 15 years at Lakeland Regional Memorial Hospital / Orthopedics. She touched many lives in her own quiet way. She is loved and admired by anyone who had the privilege of knowing her. > She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Hoffman, son-in-law, Terry G. Hoffman, granddaughters, Kirsten Philip and her husband Simon Philip and Jennifer Mead and her husband Paul Mead, great-grandchildren, Logan and Devon Mead, a sister, Frances Fowler and her husband Jack Fowler of Lakeland, FL and her nieces, Gaile Mundy, Sharon Collins and nephew Dan Fowler. >She was preceded in death by her husband, Herb Schultz, parents, Cecil and Nadine Helms, sisters, Virginia Brower and Martha Farmer of Lakeland, Florida. Graveside Service will be held Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 3:00pm at Lakeland Memorial Gardens with Bruce Dietley, Deacon of LCMS, and close family friend, officiating. LAKELAND -- Mrs. Virginia Helms Brower of Lakeland died of lung failure Wednesday (May 7, 2003) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was born in Lakeland on Jan. 18, 1925, she was a lifelong resident. She was a department manager for Sears for 22 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. >Mrs. Brower was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester H. Brower Jr. >She is survived by her daughter, Gaile Mundy, Lakeland; sisters, Alyce H. Schultz, Pensacola, Francis H. Fowler, Lakeland; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. LAKELAND -- Mr. Sylvester Hammond Brower Jr. of Lakeland died of congestive heart failure Thursday (April 17, 2003) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was born in Palmetto on Oct. 4, 1922, he came to Lakeland as in infant in 1923. He was an engineer for Atlantic Coast Line and Seaboard Coast Line railroads for 39 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post No. 4. He was a member of the Democratic Executive Committee. He was a representative and president of the United Transportation Union Legislative, Local No. 1610. He was UTU chairman of the Florida State Legislative board. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. >Mr. Brower is survived by his wife, Virginia Helms Brower; daughter, Gaile Mundy, Lakeland; brother, Clayton M. Brower, Lakeland; sister, Rosemary E. Walden, Lakeland; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
