LAKELAND - Curtis Pipkin, 90, passed away, as a result of cancer, Thursday, March 29, 2012.
 Born, November 24, 1921 in Lakeland, Florida, Mr. Pipkin was a lifelong resident of Polk County. He attended Georgia Military Academy and Montverde Academy. Mr. Pipkin was an honorably discharged veteran of the Merchant Marines, where he served during
World War II. He was the owner/operator of Pipkin Dairy. Mr. Pipkin was a member of Ruby Street Church of God.
 Mr. Pipkin was preceded in death by his daughter, Pam Pipkin. He is survived by wife, Mary Pipkin; sons, Sam Swann, Greg Pipkin, Jeff Pipkin, Jeff Flagg and Jody Flagg; daughters, Lexie Pipkin and Joy Barlow; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The Pipkin family will receive friends, Tuesday, April 3, 2012, from 9-10am at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Southside Chapel at 1727 Bartow Road in Lakeland.
 A funeral service will follow at 10am.
 Interment will take place at Fitzgerald Cemetery in Lakeland.

>RAY PIPKIN - 89 -  Railroad Engineer
LAKELAND -- Mr. Ray Pipkin of Lakeland died of cancer Tuesday (Aug. 1, 2006) in Lakeland. He was born in Lakeland on July 10, 1917, he was a lifelong resident. He was an engineer for the railroad. 
 Mr. Pipkin is survived by his wife, Opal Pipkin; daughters, Linda O'Neal, Palm Beach, Kelly Durham, Asheville, N.C., Jolinda Pipkin, Cashiers, N.C., Tina Dunn, Michelle Dunn, both of Lakeland; sons, Bob White, Greensville, S.C., Theron Dunn, Lakeland; brother, Curtis Pipkin, Lakeland; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Lakeland Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel. - Ledger, Aug. 3, 2006
