BOBBY "B.L." LANIER – 78 -
AUBURNDALE - Bobby "B.L." Lanier, 78, of Auburndale, FL passed away, Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Shands Trauma Center in Gainesville, FL due to complications from a ruptured aortic aneurysm, with his family at his bedside.
Bob was born to Marvin and Leona Lanier on May 26th 1933 in Winter Haven. He had ten sisters and one brother. After graduating from Winter Haven High School he served in the
Army at Patrick Air Force Base.
 He fell in love and married Sara "Sally" Tapp on February 3rd 1956 and raised two wonderful children together. Sally passed away in November 2000 after 46 years of marriage to Bob. Bob started and built several very successful businesses within the citrus industry. He was also an active member of the community. He served on several organizations including the Florida Citrus Commission, The
Elks Club, and the Cotton Exchange. He was also a member of the Family Motor Coach Club and the N.W. Turkey Federation. He generously contributed to the Sheriff's Boy's Ranch, Ducks Unlimited, and also sponsored a bowling team for many years.
 In 2002 Bob married the second love of his life, Rose Mary Shelton, who brought to the family two children of the heart: Sherri Weeks and Gary Shelton; and three grandchildren, Audrey and Michael Weeks and Dalton Shelton. During Bob's life he enjoyed many hobbies- including flying single engine airplanes, hunting, fishing, boating, traveling, and most of all, spending time with his family and dear friends.
 Bob is survived by: his loving wife, Rose Mary; his son, David, David's wife Marla and their two children, Cassey and Bobby; his daughter, Linda Tremaine, her husband Larry and their children, Mitch, Chelsea, Nate and Lauren. Bob is also survived by six sisters: Vivian Jasso, Elizabeth Patton, Opal Trusskey, Betty Jasso, Sue Lanier and Janet Lopez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
 The family will receive friends Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 6, 2012 at New Hope Assembly, 651 Carl Floyd Road, Winter Haven.
Interment will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations in his name to the American Cancer Society . Condolences may be sent at – Ledger, April 3, 2012
