Keaver Grimes.
She
is survived by her son, Charles L. Grimes, Polk City; half sisters,
Ella Judy, Polk City, Willie Mae Gardner, Georgia; eight grandchildren;
12 great-grandchildren; and eight great-greatgrandchildren.

He was a member of the Bethany Free Will Baptist Church and the Ridge
Archers. Mr. Grimes also served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Donald was preceded in death by his son Donald H. Grimes, Jr.

in 1953. She was a homemaker, pianist and painter. She was a member of
the Polk County Gem and Mineral Society Rock Hounds.

HAINES CITY -- Mrs. Charlotte Grimes, a former school bus driver for
the Polk County School Board, died of heart failure Thursday (June 2,
2005) in Davenport. She was 58. "She drove the bus
for about 10
years," her daughter-in-law,
Rachel Coleman of Haines City,
said, noting that she drove the same route in Polk County for the 10
years. Born in
Jacksonville
on March 9, 1947, she came to Haines City with her parents from
Jacksonville in 1959. Fishing was a hobby of Mrs. Grimes. "She loved to
fish anywhere," Coleman said. "She was up for anything."

Clinton Grimes
was born in Lakeland, FL. and passed away on May 6, 2011 due to
cancer. He lived in Lakeland all his life. He graduated from Kathleen
High in 1947, went into the Navy from 1948-1949 and traveled on the
Henry S. Tucker destroyer to Korea, China, Japan, Hawaii and the
Philippines. When he returned he married his high school sweetheart
until her death in 2002.
He worked for CSX Railroad for 41 years. After
retiring in 1991 he became a cattle rancher, always had a garden and a
avid hunter and fisherman which he taught to his children and grandson.
He was a true Florida cracker.
He is
preceded in death
by his wife Obera Silver Grimes. one deceased brother Bobby
Grimes
He is
survived by his
son, Dennis Grimes and wife Pamela, and his only grandson Wesley;
daughter, Diane Grimes Coleman and husband Hal; one living brother,
Jimmy Grimes and wife Rose Marie.
After
retiring he spent
many good times at their home in N.C. which they loved. His sense of
humor, love and devotion to his family will be missed and remembered
forever.
A funeral
service will be
held on Wednesday 05/11/11 at Lake Gibson Church of the Nazarene with
visitation at the church on Wednesday. - Interment will be in

LAKELAND - Bobby L. Grimes, age 74, passed away Friday,
October 5, 2007
after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Bobby was born on November
24, 1932, he was a third-generation lifelong resident of
Lakeland. He attended local schools and graduated from Kathleen
High School, class of 1951. He was a general foreman for
CSX Railroad. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a devoted member of
the Kathleen Area Historical Society, volunteering many hours on their
behalf.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Johnnie
Mae Grimes. He is survived by his loving wife Elaine;
children, Gary (Susan) Grimes, Keith (Pam) Grimes, Cheryl (Jeff)
Schwartz, Alisa (Ira) Anderson, Mona (Jon) Burtz, and Curtis (Eileen)
Holzschuh; brothers Clinton
Grimes and Jimmy (Rosemarie) Grimes; mother-in-law Emilie
Evans; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

retired from the city of Bartow in the water department. He later
operated a lawn service. He was a member of the Progress Lodge No. 77
Masonic Lodge, and the Lillie White Royal Arch Chapter No. 13. He was a
member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Bartow, where he served
on the usher board.

wife, Welthie.
