LAKELAND - Mr. Owen Edgar Combee, died Sunday, April 19, 2015. Born in Polk City, Florida, on April 29, 1932, Owen was a lifelong resident. He was the founder of Combee Insulation, and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Combee is survived by his wife Iva Young Combee, Lakeland; son Keith Combee (Gerri), Lakeland; daughter Denise Urban (Dan), Lakeland; granddaughters Danielle Maldonada (Dido), DeAnna Urban, Paige Combee, all of Lakeland. LAKELAND - Mr. Vincent Paul Combee passed away on Wed. January 14, 2015, due to complications from C.O.P.D. He was born in Lakeland and has worked for Florida Kitchen & Bath Designs for many years. Paul also served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He loved to golf, fish, watch Gator Football, racing and most of all, had a love for his children. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Combee and Martha Harrelson, sisters, Janice and Linda; brother, Hank. > He is survived by son, Jason Paul Combee; daughters, Shannon Combee, Jessica Combee and Courtney Combee Baker; several grandchildren; brothers Kevin & Wayne Combee; sisters, Marsha Daniels and Rlivia Bagley. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015, 2:00 pm at Bridges Barn, 2135 D.R. Bryant Road, Lakeland, FL, 33810. LAKELAND
- Dorothy Ferguson Combee passed away at home on March 9th, 2016, under
the loving care of her surrogate daughters, Judy Myers and Joyce
Slominski and the Cornerstone Hospice Staff.
She
was predeceased by her husband
Leroy Combee, her
parents:
Kenneth G. Ferguson and Dorothy Morey Ferguson,
sisters: Mary
Francis Bach (Edmund L.), Miriam Louise McEwan (Robert S.).
She
is survived by her brother Kenneth G. Ferguson II and several nieces
and nephews. She moved to
Lakeland with her parents in 1946,
and
graduated from Lakeland Senior High School in 1947.
(She attended
Fredonia College in Fredonia N.Y.).
She
married Leroy Combee in 1950. Together
they built a dairy which
they ran for several years and then built up a stable of racehorses
which they raced in Florida, Louisiana and the Northeastern United
States. She was a hardworking woman and kind to all animals and people.
She was loved by all who knew her. A memorial service is to be held on
April 2nd at 11 A.M at David Russell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers,
if you desire, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army,

L.
Combee,a resident of Apollo Beach passed away on Thursday, March 3,
2016, in Savannah, Georgia. Ken was
born in Lakeland, FL, on October
20, 1955. He was a lifelong
Florida resident & an avid
fisherman.
Ken was
preceded in death
by his parents Floyd &
Helen. > He is survived
by
daughters Kim McGlinchey, Elizabeth O'Gorman, sons in law Declan
McGlinchey, Darryl O'Gorman, grandchildren Haylie and Drew O'Gorman,
brother and sister in law Tim and Angie Combee, and many, many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 12 at 2:00 pm at
Beef O'Brady's in Apollo Beach, where Ken will be lovingly remembered
by friends and family for his amazing smile, dry sense of humor, and
astonishing skills with a fishing rod. In lieu of flowers, please make
donations to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

LAKELAND - Shirley
Combee, a
native of Polk County, was born
in Winter Haven and moved
with her family to Lakeland before she started school. She graduated
from Lakeland High School in 1955
and married her husband, Ernest,
on June 17th, the same year. They celebrated their 61st anniversary in
2016. > Shirley was predeceased
by her parents,
Curtis and Thelma Johnson Walling
and her brother Doug Walling.
> She is
survived
by her loving and devoted
husband Ernest, brother
Conrad 'Red' Walling; three children,
Cindy Combee Rodriguez, Darrell Combee and Ginger Combee Corda (Mike
Baker); four grandchildren: Tara Rodriguez, Barrett Rodriguez
(Samantha), Mandy Corda Pinto (Bill), Darrell 'DJ' Combee, Jr. and a
great granddaughter Cadence Rodriguez and many nieces/nephews. >
When her youngest child started school, Shirley (age 30) began her
higher education, earning her AA degree at Polk Community College (now
Polk State) and continued at the University of South Florida to earn her masters
in business
education (magna Cum Laude,
1972. Ultimately, at age 40, while
working full time as an
educator, she earned her
doctorate degree from Nova University
and continued a stellar career as a college
professor, academic dean
and assistant to the provost at Hillsborough Community College.
During her tenure, she enjoyed many accolades, association leadership
roles and recognitions including 'World Who's Who of Women;' Florida
Association of Community Colleges, American Association of Women in
Higher Education; National Business Education Association; Academic
Excellence Award (USF 1970) and Miracle Worker Award (United Fund). She
had a passion for learning and educating and instilled that passion in
her children and grandchildren. Dr. Combee was successful in every
endeavor she undertook and always attributed that success to her love
of the Lord. A devout Christian, she led food, prayer, youth, Sunday
school and other ministries at several churches including her beloved
home church, Northside Baptist. Shirley brought many others to the Lord
through her ministries, her testimony and example. Over the years, she
also supported her husband in his music ministry at several Baptist
Churches in Polk County. In later years, Shirley successfully managed
her husband's
bluegrass
gospel band, 'Never Fade.'
She handled all the concert bookings,
ran the sound board and helped mix several recorded productions/CDs for
the band for nearly 14 years. Her hobbies included writing poetry;
lyrics for gospel songs (over 20 were published and many recorded;
gardening; sewing; crocheting, reading and spending time at the
couple's cabin in North Carolina. Shirley lived her life as an example
to others; God first followed closely by family. A visitation will be
held at Gentry-Morrison, 3350 Mall Hill Dr. Memorial service to follow.

LAKELAND - Ruth E.
(Combee) Bingham went home to be with the Lord on April 27, 2016, after
92 rich years of life on Earth. She was
preceded in death by her mother, Emmie Ballard Combee; her father, John
Combee; her sister,
Nola Deeson; her husband,
Charles 'Bill' W. Bingham; and
her daughter, Eva Ruth Stewart. > She is survived by her son,
Charles R. Bingham (Faye); grandchildren, Christina Stewart (David),
Brian Stewart (Kim), Charles D. Bingham (Juanita), and Charlene Ross
(Trent); and great grandchildren, Alex Bingham, Nolan Ross, Kaleb Ross,
Brianna Bing-ham, Audrey Ross, and Samuel Bingham. She had a servant's
heart and happily, quietly met the needs of many people around her. She
was an active member of Trinity United Methodist church,
preschool teacher and homemaker.
She loved fishing and camping with her husband, Bill, family &
friends. Visitation will be on Monday, May 2, 2016 with services will
be Tuesday, May 3, 2016, Both will be held at Lakeland Funeral Home
& Memorial Gardens, 2125 S. Bartow Hwy., Lakeland, FL 33801.
