HARDIE  COMBEE: Pioneer Polk Resident, Dies.
 Hardie N. COMBEE, One of the oldest members of a pioneer Polk County family, died early today at his home at 2905 E. Broadway. Hardie was 81 and was a life time resident of Polk. He was a member of Gapway Baptist Church. Friends knew him affectionately as "Hard" Combee.
 Hardie and his one living brother, Morgan Combee, were the patriarchs of the family whose members and decendants are an integral part of Lakeland's past and present.
 Starting as farmers, the family settled and grew in the area east of Lakeland known as the COMBEE SETTLEMENT.
 Mr. Combee is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mollie Combee; one son, Audie Combee; 4 daughters, Mrs. B. L. Jefferies, Mrs. W. A. Jeffries, Mrs. C. E. Baader, and Mrs. C. T. REHBERG of Homosassa, Fla. , his brother ( Morgan ), 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
 Funeral services and place of burial will be announced by Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home.

1884 - 1980

 Lakeland - Mollie Combee, age 95, of 2807 Harden Combee Road, died Monday at the Kennedy Nursing Home.
  Mollie was a lifelong resident of Lakeland, She was a homemaker and a member of the Gapway Baptist Church.
 Mollie is survived by her son, Audie Combee, her daughers, Lavada Jefferies and Juanita Nichols all of Lakeland; 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Mollie Combee- Funeral Notice -
 Funeral services for Mollie Combee will be held Wednesday at 10 from Gapway Baptist Church by Rev. J. B. Smith, Pastor of Gapway and Rev. Hubert Barnes, retired Baptist Minister.
 Interment will take place in Gapway Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 - 8 p.m. at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 417 N.Mass. Ave.
