Haines City - Mrs. Donnie Combee of Haines City died Tuesday ( April 5, 1994 ) at home. Donnie was born in Lakeland on Fed. 14, 1904, she was a lifelong resident of Haines City. She was a homemaker and a member of Westside Baptist Church in Haines City.
Donnie was preceded in death by her daughter, Wanda Matthews in 1987. Donnie is survived by her son William B."Runt" Combee, Kissinnee; daughter, Elna BOWEN, of Haines City; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. HAINES CITY - Runt Combee, of Haines City, FL, passed away peacefully at home on October 9, 2012 from heart failure. Runt was born in Lakeland, FL, on January 24, 1924 and was a lifelong resident of Polk County. After high school Runt entered the U.S. Army and fought for our country during World War II. For over fifty years he owned and operated Haines City Industries, growing, harvesting and hauling citrus. Runt served as Mayor of Haines City and spent his entire life working to provide for his family while serving the town and the churches he has belonged to: Eastside, Shamrock and Oak Hill Baptist.
Runt was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Boone & Donnie Ellerbee Combee, a sister Wanda Combee Matthews, and his daughter, Brandy Combee.
He is survived by his wife, Darby Combee; daughters Jane Combee (Fred) McTeer and Amy Combee (Brandon) Layne; son Billy Combee; sister Elna Combee Bowen; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

LAKELAND - Mr. Lowell Lee Combee, went to be with the Lord on November 22, 2008 as the result of an auto accident.
Born in Polk City on February 20, 1932, he was a lifetime resident of the area. He was a maintenance engineer for 34 years at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Ann Combee; parents, Walter M. and Hazel Combee; and two brothers.

Dallas Franklin Finger, 42 (looks like age 42 ) of Southeast Lakeland, died last night at a Bartow Hospital. He was an automobile mechanic and a member of the Gapway Baptist Church.

Lakeland- Mary Juanita Nichols passed away Nov. 30, 2010. Mrs. Nickles was born in Lakeland on Oct. 3, 1923 and remained a lifetime resident of the area. Mary was part of the Lakeland Pioneer Family line ( The Combee's ) she was a member of the Gapway Baptist Church where she was active in Sunday School.
Mrs. Nickles was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Nickles and her son, David Vance.

He was a fifth generation cattleman who loved his cows. He was a member of Griffin Baptist Church, served in the Air Force and loved his family and grandkids.
He is survived by wife Lorene; son Hugh (Malinda) Combee; daughters Pam (Wes) Ward, Penny (Billy) Boles, Nina (Brannen) Hester; grandchildren Dusty, Rhonda, Hugh Daniel, Donnie, Matthew, Jason, Jerrad, Robby, Audrey and Savannah and 5 great grandchildren.

LAKELAND - Thelma Lee Combee, of Lakeland, passed away March 11, 2010 due to heart failure. She was born in Brooks County, Georgia January 10, 1920.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Cecil F Combee, in 2002 and a son, Jesse Lee Combee in 1947.
Survivors are three sons: Charles Leonard Combee of Davenport, Cecil Wayne and Glenn Edward Combee of Lakeland, and daughter, Shirley A. Lester of Lakeland, 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 3 sisters, and 1 brother.
Mrs. Combee was a dedicated Christian mother and grandmother She was an active member of Gapway Baptist Church for over 60 years. In September 2009, the church honored her by naming the church library, Thelma Combee Library. She loved to study family and church history. In 2009 the Gapway History book was completed by her and her daughter.
She and her husband were farmers and sold vegetables at the local farmers markets for many years. They also worked at the church 27 years caring for the yards and buildings. - Visitation will take place at Gapway, Sunday (3-14-2010).

VALRICO - Henry (Hank) Edward Jackson Combee, age 60, was called home to be with the angels May 12th, 2012 due to complications stemming from liver cancer. Born November 12th 1951 in Lakeland.
Survived by two daughters, Lindsay Combee of Brandon, Christina Neale of Ocala; son, Anthony Suggs of Lakeland. Three grandchildren that he absolutely adored Damion, Peyton, Zachary. Best friend and mother of his two daughters, Bonnie Combee. Father, Henry W. LAKELAND - Mr. Ralph Morgan Combee, died of complications of Alzheimer's disease December 6, 2007. Born in Lakeland on Feb. 27, 1923, he was a lifelong resident. He was a cattleman and a member of the Polk County Cattlemen's Association. He was also a member of the Florida Farm Bureau and one of Polk County's pioneer families. He was an Army veteran of WWII and a member of Gapway Baptist Church.
Mr. Combee was preceded in death by his son Ronald Combee, brothers Oris Combee, Kenneth Combee, Aldine Combee; sister, Orine Schaller.

BRADENTON - Mrs. Doris Combee Turner, passed away Sept. 15, 2011 due to heart failure. Mrs. Turner was born Sept. 30, 1934 in Polk City, FL. She moved to Bradenton in 1977. Doris worked as an Executive Assistant with Publix Supermarkets and Manatee Glens. She was a member of Northwest Baptist Church in Bradenton, participated in fund raising for Manatee Glens, and was an active volunteer in her community.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Turner, Jr.; and sister, Joyce C. Burnsed.
She is survived by her sons, Robert H. Turner, III of Bowling Green, KY, and Michael L. Turner of Vasteras, Sweden; daughters, Marie T. Blume of Dunnellion, FL, and Teresa D. LAKE CITY -- Mr. William Kenneth Burnsed of Lake City died of cancer Thursday (March 20, 2003) at North Florida Regional Medical Center. Born March 3, 1931, in Lacoochee, he came to Lake City from Lakeland in 2001. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea as Sgt. 1st Class. He was a mechanical engineer. He worked for Mine & Mill Supply of Orlando, Gondas, Inc., and was owner of Southern Pump & Supply Company. From 1969 to 1972 he served in an advisory capacity to SWFWMD. He was a member of First Baptist Church at the Mall.

Born May 5, 1925, in Lakeland, Florida, a daughter of the late Harney and Mabel ShawCombee Sr., she was a housewife and a member of St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Parish, Rochester, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene E. Bishop Sr. in 1979 and two brothers, John Combee and Harvey Combee Jr.BI
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Eugene Edward Jr. and Glenda Bishop, Raleigh, NC; two daughters, Joan D. Shaffer, LaGrange NC and Elizabeth A. Bishop Rochester; seven grandchildren.
Friends were received on Tuesday in the William Murphy Funeral Home, Inc., 349 Adams St., Rochester.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, Rochester Township.
Interment will follow in St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Cemetery. The family wishes memorial contributions be made to Life Beaver County, 100 Superior Ave., Aliquippa, PA 16001. The family wishes to thank their aunts for doing many things with and for their mother. A special thank you to Aunt Mary, Aunt Peggy, and Aunt JoAnn and to the people of Life Beaver County.

LAKELAND - On Saturday, September 28, 2013 William (Billy) Morgan Combee, Jr. went home to be with the Lord due to heart failure. Billy was born on August 8, 1958 to William and Sharon Combee of Lakeland.
He is survived by his son, William Combee, III and his wife, Tiffany, and his mom, Brenda Eser, brothers, Bart and Nickalous Combee, and grandson William IV, who was born Se../../schools/LakelandAlumni.htmlpt. 29th.
Billy graduated from Lakeland High School in 1976, where he was very active in marching and concert band and formed many lifelong friendships, including his friend in Christ, Bill Pinner and family.
He lived and worked most of his life in Lakeland, traveling to New England a lot early on in his life after receiving his Thoroughbred Horse Trainers license. He had many accomplishments, including winning Florida's biggest race with Admiral Whiskers. He also, proudly owned and operated Billy's Deli on Edgewood Dr. until it closed several years ago. He was working with Bill Combee Plumbing and Repair until his illness no longer allowed him to. Billy was a very loving and giving person, helping and lending a hand to whoever needed one. LAKELAND - Randy Duane Combee, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014, in Lakeland, Florida, due to pneumonia. He was born on January 19, 1955, in Lakeland, Florida. Randy was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt.
Randy was preceded in death by his daughter Stacee Bell; his grandson Lane Bell; and his parents Aldine & Agnes Combee.

LAKELAND - Mr. Henry W. Combee, went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 16, 2014. He was born in Lakeland and has been a lifetime resident. Henry was a member of North Lakeland Baptist Church. He loved camping and fishing.
Henry is preceded in death by 3 wives, Louise, Martha and Mae; 3 children, Linda, Janice and Hank.
Survivors include his sons, Paul and Wayne of Lakeland, Kevin of Plant City; daughters, Marsha Reecy of Plant City, Rlivia Ernest of Lakeland; brother, R.L. AUBURNDALE - Mr. Michael 'Mike' Aldine Combee, a lifetime Polk County resident, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at his home with his family. Mr. Combee was born July 28, 1946, in Lakeland to Aldine and Agnes Mae (Dias) Combee. He graduated from Lakeland High School, Class of 1967 and was a member of Green Pond Baptist Church in Polk City. He was a retired truck driver after 35 years. He worked for several companies, APAC, MacAsphalt, Lane Construction and Central Florida Hotmix.
Mike enjoyed cattle ranching, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Randy Dwayne Combee and granddaughter Kayla Marie Bryant.

LAKELAND - Chester Combee of Lakeland passed away May 15, 2015, at his home in Lakeland. Born in 1945, he was a lifelong resident of Lakeland except for 2 years that he lived with his sister, Bertha McNeal, in Toledo, OH. He always loved being with his family of 12 brothers and sisters altogether. He cared for his mother and brother until they were deceased. Chester could remember jokes and tell them to make you laugh out loud. He lived on Combee Road. While he was growing up, he played baseball with his brothers and sisters out in the pine trees; the pine trees were used for 1st, 2nd and 3rd base. He would play until Mother called us in for supper. Then it would get dark and we'd have to stay in the house. Chester always said 'live within your means and give thanks to God for every day that you have.' Chester was born to Pearson and Ethel Pearl Grimes Combee, who are deceased. Chester was a Baptist. He is survived by 4 sisters Verda Glass, Dorothy Harris, Erma L. Cook & Jim and Marilyn Williams, and many nieces and nephews.
