Mrs. Carolyn Combee, age 78 of Lakeland passed away Monday, September
2, 2013 in Lakeland due to heart failure. Mrs. Combee was
born in
Bartow to Sonny & Truly Lassiter.
She was a retired
Operator Supervisor with GTE/Verizon and a founding member of the Faith
Baptist Church in Lakeland. Mrs. Combee enjoyed watching the Rays,
cooking, her monthly GTE retirement luncheons and spending time with
her family.
She was
preceded in death by her
husband, Glenn Combee
and
son,
Alan
Combee.
Survivors
include her son, Dennis Mindy Combee of Plant City and daughter Cindy
Bill Poole of Winter Haven. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Adam
Davis, Matthew Davis, Sara Combee, Amanda Lowe, Deanna Lowe and Megan
Combee.
Funeral
services will be held Friday at 11 AM at the Kersey Funeral Home,
Auburndale with visitation beginning at 10 AM. – Ledger,

Peter "Glenn" Combee, of Lakeland passed
away Saturday, July 21, 2012 in Lakeland due to respiratory failure.
Mr. Combee was born in
Lakeland to Walter and Hazel
Combee.
He was a retired Chief Radio
Operator with Polk County Emergency
Systems as well as an Army
veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr.
Combee was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Polk City and enjoyed
hunting and fishing.
Glenn is survived by
his wife, of 58 years, Carolyn
Combee of Lakeland; a son,
Dennis (Mindy) Combee of Plant City; a
daughter, Cindy (William) Poole of Winter Haven; 4 brothers, Lucian
Combee, Neil Combee, Terry Combee and Vincent Combee; 5 sisters, Eunice
Baker, Wanda Cantilnella, Muriel Moore, Bernice St. Clair and Linda
Knowles; grandchildren, Adam & Matthew Davis, Sara Combee,
Megan
Combee, and Amanda & Deanna Lowe. He was preceded in death by a son, Alan Combee. Funeral services will take place Wednesday at the Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale. Visitation will begin Wednesday at the funeral home. – Ledger, July 23, 2012 |

Combee, 52, died Monday, Sept 22, 2008, at Palm Terrace in Lakeland of
liver failure.
Mr. Combee was born December 9, 1955 in Bartow. He has been a resident of Lakeland for over 20 years, moving from Bartow. He was a truck driver for Commercial Carrier. He attended the Faith Baptist Church of Lakeland. Alan is survived by his former wife: Deborah Ann Combee of Lakeland; daughter: Sara Lynn Combee of Lakeland; two step-sons: Rodney Moseley of Green Cove Springs & Eric Moseley of Lakeland; step-daughter: Tabitha Cain of Lakeland; parents: Glenn & Carolyn Combee of Lakeland; sister: Cindy & husband Bill Poole of Lakeland; brother: Dennis & wife Mindy Combee of Plant City & eight grandchildren. LAKELAND -- Mr. Arnold C. "Sonny" Lassiter of Lakeland died of kidney failure Tuesday (Oct. 26, 2004) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 93. Born in Blakely, Ga., on March 7, 1911, he came to Lakeland from Bartow seven years ago. He was a foreman for Bartow Steam Laundry. He was a member of Bartow First Baptist Church. Mr. Lassiter was preceded in death by his wife, Truly Lassiter. He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Combee, Lakeland, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held, Friday at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 E. Main St., Bartow. Graveside services will follow at Wildwood Cemetery, Bartow. Born in Lucerne Park on April 15, 1917, she came to Lakeland one and a half years ago. She was an assistant manager for Colony Shop, Lakeland. She was a member of Bartow First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Arnold C. "Sonny" Lassiter; daughter, Carolyn Combee, Lakeland; sister, Lorraine Polk, Winter Haven; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
