LUGENE (AYERS) KING
- 94 - Citrus Industry
AUBURNDALE - Florida Lugene (Ayers) King, 94, went to be with the Lord
peacefully on Sunday, October 17, 2010 surrounded by her family at
Auburndale Oaks Healthcare Center due to natural causes.
She was born in Auburndale on July, 8th, 1916 to Royal and Lillie
Fussell Ayers. She worked in the citrus industry for over 40 years
until retiring to become a caregiver to numerous family members.
Mrs. King was married
to Louie Elmer King, who
preceded her in death. Also preceding
her in death was her son Albert Ashley King.
She is survived by her daughters Patricia Whiddon
of
Auburndale and Charlotte (Richard) Morgan of High Springs, FL. Lugene
had 7 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great
grandchildren. She is survived by one brother, Raymond Ayers, three
sisters, Ellen Albritton, Gertrude (Gene) Adams, Carolyn Hudson and
sister-in-law, Theresa Ayers.
Lugene was an avid homemaker always involved in some type of activity
including cooking, canning, quilting, and crocheting. She leaves behind
many pieces of hand work for her family. Mrs. King was a member of Lena
Vista Baptist Church and Chapter 57 of the Order of Eastern Star.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010 at
Oak
Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral Services will begin at
11:00am. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
