IRMA LEE FUSSELL -  101 -  Citrus Plant Worker
WINTER HAVEN - Mrs. Irma Lee Fussell  passed away Monday, November 17, 2008 at the Consulate Health Care of Winter Haven due to natural causes. Mrs. Fussell was born October 9, 1907 in Mitchell County, Georgia to Dennis and Bertha (Akridge) Parker. As a young lady her family moved to Florida by Ox cart back in 1926 coming from Georgia. She was a retired Citrus Plant Worker, avid cook and loved to go fishing.
 Irma met her husband "Jay" J.W. Fussell and together they built a life of 67 years until he passed away. Together J.W. and Irma farmed cattle and started a Water Well Drilling Business which still thrives today. What she thought was everyday business to her children, grandchildren was the magic in her hands. She could turn milk into butter, cane juice into syrup and you could consider yourself fortunate if you received one of her fruit cakes. Irma will be sadly missed by all.
 She was preceded in death by her husband J.W.; sons W.O. Fussell, James Lavon Fussell and an infant son William; grandsons Henry Jay Dixon and Mitchell Eugene Fussell; grand daughters Tamra Jean Fussell and MacKenzie Fussell and great grandson Tony Monroe Dixon.
 Irma is survived by her loving and devoted family: 1 daughter: Edna Fussell (Rex) Day of Auburndale, FL., 2 sons: Edward Eugene (Barbara) Fussell of Polk City, FL., Lawrence P. (Barbara) Fussell of Polk City, FL., 2 sisters: Francis Barton of Auburndale, FL., Etta Reed Cason of Lakeland, FL., 12 grandchildren: Kathy Fussell Thompson of Gulfport, MS, Barbara "Bobi" Fussell Pope of Mulberry, FL, Sherry Fussell King of Atlanta, GA, Carl Dixon of Naples, FL,William "Buddy" Fussell, Jr. of Auburndale, FL, Mark Fussell of Walden, NY, Troy Fussell of Morriston, FL, Todd Fussell of Auburndale, FL, Timothy Fussell of Auburndale, FL, James Fussell of Highland City, FL, Cory Fussell of Bartow, FL, David Fussell of Lakeland, FL, 17 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, November 21, 2008 at the Kersey Funeral Home with interment to follow at Mount Olive Cemetery in Polk City. Auburndale - Mr. William Otis Fussell, Sr., died Thursday, August 30, 2007 from heart failure at his daughters home in Chicora. Mr. Fussell was born in Medulla, FL. on October 8, 1929. He lived in Auburndale, FL. all his life. He was a car inspector for Atlantic Coastline. He was a member of church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he was a member of Southland Masonic Lodge #256.
  He is survived by his mother Irma Lee Fussell , Auburndale, FL., sons; Buddy Fussell of Auburndale, FL., Mark Fussell of New York, daughters: Kathy Fussell Thompson of Gulfport, MS., Barbara Fussell Pope of Chicora, FL., sister; Edna Day of Auburndale, FL., brothers- Eugene Fussell- Polk City, FL., Lawrence (AH) Fussell-Auburndale, FL. four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
  Visitation will be held Mon. Sept. 3, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Mulberry First Assembly of God- Hwy. 60 East, Mulberry, FL. Graveside services will be held Tues. Sept. 4, 2007 at 11 AM at
