LAKELAND -- Mr. Hollis S. Bryant of Lakeland died of heart disease Tuesday (April 4, 2006) at Savannah Cottage in Lakeland. Born in Lakeland on Nov. 7, 1916, he was a lifelong resident. He was a welder for Borden Chemical Co. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. > Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Bryant.  >  He is survived by his daughters, Ernestine Mixon, Doris Lacy, both of Lakeland; sons, Hollie S. Bryant, Lamar K. Bryant, Claude M. Bryant, Thomas A. Bryant, all of Lakeland, Joe A. LAKELAND - Mrs. Dorothy J. Bryant, died of a brain aneurysm Tuesday (Feb. 23, 2010).  Born in Lakeland on Sept. 17, 1937, she was a lifelong resident. She was the owner of Badcock Furniture store in Leesburg. She was a member of Galloway Assembly of God. > Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by her husband Raymond H. Roscoe Costine of Route 5, died yesterday afternoon at his home. A native of Polk Co., he had lived here all his life.  A cattleman, Mr Costine was a member of Gapway Baptist Church.> He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Costine; 8 daughters, Misses Lauania and Marie Costine, Mrs. Lois Bowden, Mrs. Bernice Buchanon and Mrs. Lenora Huckabay, all of Lakeland, Mrs. Margie Rehberg of Mulberry, Mrs. Velma Tidwell of Winter Haven and Miss Martha Lee Costine of Illinois; 4 sons, Clarence R., Elwin and Earlow Costine, all of Lakeland and Ray W. Costine of Zephyrhills; a step-son, Nathan Platt of Lakeland; 4 brothers, L. V., A. W., Walter and T. D.  Services for Roscoe Costine were held yesterday afternoon at Gapway Baptist Church. The Rev. S. E. Simmons, pastor of Bethany Baptist Church in Plant City, the Rev. R. F. O'Steen, pastor of Skyland Baptist Church and the Rev. Elvin R. Hall, pastor of Gapway Baptist, officiated.  Music was presented by Ernest Selph, Aldine Combee, Vivian Selph, Oris Combee and Mrs. Diane Fields.  Pallbearers were Bill Brown, Alfred  (Budd) Costine, Dalton Sherrouse, Horance Costine and Norell Costine. Honorary pallbearers were, Harry McCallan, Harry Grimes, Check Powell, Wesley Deeson, Monroe Fussell, D. H. Handley, Tolbert Carroll, Flem Parrish, Charlie Grimes, Archie Brown, William Rutledge and Dr. James R. West.
 Burial was at Socrum Cemetery under the direction of Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home.

 Alfred L. "Buddy" Costine - 80 - Road Maintenance Foreman Polk County 
Lakeland, - Alfred L. "Buddy" Costine, died of cancer Monday, Feb. 12, 2007.  Born June 20, 1926, in Lakeland, FL., he was a lifelong resident of Lakeland. Buddy retired as a Road Maintenance Foreman for the Polk County Board of County Commissioners after 25 years of service. Also a cattleman, he was a member of the Cattlemen's Association of Florida and a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he was a former Sunday school teacher and a past deacon of the church. He was a loving husband and brother and a great daddy and "Poppie". LAKELAND - Patsye Robson, died January 10, 2008 at home from heart failure. She was born on March 28, 1914, in Savannah, GA. She came to Florida from Georgia in 1937. Patsye was a musician and a teacher. She was a long time member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Tuesday Music Club and was the organist at Cypress Gardens.  > She was preceded in death by her husband Wayma Robson. > Survived by daughters Gloria Bliss (Alan) of Lutz. LAKELAND- Hesta Florence Robson of Lakeland, passed away peacefully at home on March 27 due to natural causes. Hesta was born in Plant City, and was a lifelong resident of this area. She attended and graduated from Kathleen High School, was active for many years in the PTA, and was a Sunday School teacher for over 30 years at Calvary Baptist Church where she belonged for over 60 years. > She is survived by her husband of 68 years, James Edward Robson, Sr., her daughter Debbie McConnell and husband Rob; her sons Jim and wife Peggy, Rev. Tim and wife Sharon, Rickey and wife Denise, and Daniel. LAKELAND - Evelyn Bostian passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center of pneumonia.  She was born Evelyn Thompson, May 18, 1932 in Lawrence County, Georgia and raised in Plant City. She lived in Landis, NC, for many years before moving to Lakeland. She retired from Swift Textiles Cotton Mill. >  She is preceded in death by her parents Lillian Thompson Blanton and Mark Thompson and her husband of 36 years, Jim Bostian. > She is survived by her children, Martha Loette Mitchell, Lakeland, Richard "Kenny" Coppedge Martha , Polk City, Jim Bostian, Jr. Joy , Salisbury, NC, Rick Bostian, Salisbury, NC; a brother, Bill "Pete" Thompson, Emerson, AR;  sisters, Patricia Highsmith and Shirley Lovette, both of Plant City; 11 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. LAKELAND - Ms. Zelda Harrell Raulerson passed away Monday, January 21, 2013 due to heart failure. Zelda was born in Socrum, Florida 81 years ago to Levy and Lydia Harrell. She had three brothers: Eugene, Hank and Bill.  God gave her a beautiful voice and she sang His praises every chance she got beginning at the age 3 standing on a stool beside her father at Bethel Baptist Church. She went to Socrum Strawberry School and graduated from Kathleen in 1949. That same year Zelda had fallen in love with her husband, Ezra Penn Raulerson, Jr. and was married to him for 50 years. They were blessed with 4 children. She was a nurse at Lakeland General Hospital, member of Bethel Baptist Church for 73 years where she was the director of the Sonbeams, taught a ladies Sunday school class and was a church librarian for many years. Zelda sang for the last time at Bethel on January 5th at a luncheon with many friends. We believe God called her to His heavenly choir and she and Daddy are singing praises together forever in heaven. > Zelda is predeceased by her husband Ezra Penn Raulerson, Jr.  >She is survived by her one son, Ezra P. LAKELAND - Christine Raulerson passed away on Wednesday, January 5th, 2011 at her home of heart failure. She was born Christine Thompson in 1930 in Laurens County, Ga., and was raised in the Turkey Creek area of Plant City. She lived in Lakeland with her family for over 60 years. She was a retiree of Publix Printing Services. Christine enjoyed interests like maintaining her own yard and flowers, dining out with good friends and family and watching Bucs football games. Most of all, she valued precious time with her family. The love and pride she took in her family was truly one of a kind. >She was preceded in death by her father, Mark Thompson; her mother, Lillian Blanton; and two infant children, Harold L. Lakeland Electric LAKELAND - Mr. William Richard Grigsby died of cardiac arrest Tuesday (Nov. 17, 2009). Born in Lakeland on Nov. 27,1947, he was a lifelong resident.  He was a supervisor at Lakeland Electric Macintosh Plant. He was also a Navy veteran and member of the AmVets Post 32. >  Mr. Grigsby is survived by his wife Shelley Grigsby, Lakeland; son Richard Edward Grigsby, Southgate, MI; daughter Renae Harvill, Lakeland; brother James Robert Grigsby, Lakeland; sisters Carolyn Ritter, Lutz, FL., Marylou Bryan, Lakeland; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild. LAKELAND - Mrs. Winifred Balz Whitehurst, died Sunday, January 11, 2015, due to natural causes. Born in New York City, N.Y., on July 8, 1925, Winnie came here from Alva, Florida, in 1947. LAKELAND - Mrs. Margaret B. Roberts, died of complications of cancer Sunday, February 15, 2015. Born in Lakeland on November 26, 1935, Margaret returned to Lakeland after living in Ft. Lauderdale. Margaret was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. >She was preceded in death by her husband Tunis D. Roberts, Sr.; and daughter Mary Thompson.> She is survived by her sons Walter F. (Sherry) Roberts, Tunis D. (Wanda) Roberts, Jr., brothers Rodney W. Amig, Jr., Eddie Amig, grandchildren: Clint, Sarah Kay, Donnie, Nikki and Rebecca, great grandchildren Anthony, Alex, Allie and David. LAKELAND - Everett Donald Cason, Jr., lifelong resident of Lakeland, died May 19, 2019 at home. Everett was born on April 17, 1967 in Lakeland, FL to his parents, Donald and Kay Cason. He graduated from Lake Gibson High School in 1985. He was formerly employed by the Lakeland Electric. He was an avid outdoorsman and had a love of nature. >Everett loved his family and Emily Cason; he is survived by his daughter, his parents, Donald and Kay Cason; and brother, Warren J. Cason. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 5-7pm at Heath Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 11am in Bethel Baptist Church with interment following the service at Socrum Cemetery.
