LAKELAND - Mr.
Charles Wedrell Claridy, passed away on Monday Nov. 10, 2008 at LRMC
due to complications from diabetes. He was born January 5, 1932 in Lakeland,
FL to Russell and Zinnie Claridy. A lifelong Floridian and resident
of Lakeland, Charles graduated
from Lakeland High School. He joined the Navy in 1951 and
served during the Korean War as a swimming instructor for Navy
pilots and played service football. After returning to Lakeland, he married
Jeanette and had four children. He was active in the PTA, Band
Boosters, and was a Little League baseball coach. He was a member of
the Lakeland Hills Boulevard Church of Christ and served for many years
as a deacon and song leader. Charles had several professions during his
40 years of business life in Lakeland, including landscaping
contractor, service station owner, real estate agent, and painting
contractor.
He was a member of
Lakeland North Rotary for over 30 years, and was honored as a Paul
Harris fellow for 25 years of dedicated service. Charles and Jeanette
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 10, 2007 at the
Kathleen Area Historical Society, where they were both
members. His hobbies included aviation, cars, fishing, and woodworking.
He is
survived by his wife, Jeanette Claridy; a son, Nathan Claridy
of Cary, IL; three daughters, Stephan Marschall of Lakeland, FL,
Allison Turner of Woodstock, GA, Rachel Miller of Lakeland, FL; a
brother, Bill Claridy of Lakeland, FL; a sister, Frankie Bishop of
Clarksville, IN; eight grandchildren, Kirk Marschall, Nolan Claridy,
Erin Claridy, Keith Marschall, Blaine & Bailey Miller, Quinn Turner
and Clara Turner.
In lieu of flowers
donations may be made to the (JDRF) Juvenile Diabetes Research
Foundation. A visitation will be on Wednesday at the Gentry-Morrison
Funeral Home-Northside Chapel.
Funeral services
will be held on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008 at the Lake Gibson Church of

JEANETTE LINDSEY
CLARIDY – 79 -
LAKELAND -
Jeanette Lindsey Claridy, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at
her home in Lakeland, Florida from heart failure. She was born on April
29, 1933 to Clyde and Bernice Lindsey of Lakeland. A lifelong
resident of Lakeland, Jeanette graduated from the last Strawberry
School class at Kathleen High School
in 1950. After high
school, she worked in various clerical capacities for Florida Baptist
Children's Home, Lakeland Federal Savings, Florida Rock Products, and
finally Polk Pump and Irrigation, where she was a bookkeeper for 25
years. She married Charles W. Claridy in 1957 and had
four children: Nathan, Stephan, Allison, and Rachel. Charles and
Jeanette celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 10, 2007 at
the Kathleen Area Historical Society. She was a member of
the Lakeland Hills Boulevard Church of Christ for 40 years. An avid
bowler, she recorded many games over 200 pins, was a member of the
Women's International Bowling Congress, and made many trips to
tournaments all over the United States. She enjoyed gardening in the
backyard, organizing her Kathleen High School class reunions, and in
later years she was a Lifetime member and Corresponding Secretary of
the Kathleen Area Historical Society.
Jeanette
is
survived by her son Nathan Claridy, his wife Becky, and their children
Nolan and Erin, daughter Stephan Marschall, her husband Bob, and their
sons Kirk and Keith, daughter Allison Turner, her husband Matt, and
their children Quinn, Clara, and Griffin; and daughter Rachel Miller,
her husband Doug, and their children Blaine, Bailey, and Maddison. She
is also survived by her sister Audrey Rimmer Davis and brother Sonny
Lindsey, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins in her extended family.
She
was

in death by her husband

Clyde and Bernice
Lindsey of Lakeland, and her sister Loretta Ellis of Avon Park,
Florida. Visitation will be on Friday, January 25th, 2013 at Gentry
Morrison Northside Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at Lake
Gibson Church of Christ in Lakeland, Florida, and interment will follow
at the Bethel Baptist cemetery. Flowers can be sent to Gentry
