LAKELAND - Doris K. Lovering of Lakeland passed away March 28, 2013 after a extended illness. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, and was a member of Medulla Baptist Church. > She is survived by her husband, Don; daughter, Debbie Ferguson; son, Don Lovering, Jr. & twin sister, Iris Cowart. She was a wonderful grandmother to seven grandchildren, Brett, Sarah, Kate, Kyle, Josh, Hannah & Emily. In addition, she had six precious great grandchildren, Kailey, Kelsi-Jo, Kynzie, Logan, Kyler & Kylee.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Medulla Baptist Church, 3930 Old Road 37, Lakeland, FL 33813. The family will receive visitors at Medulla Baptist Church,  followed by a service at 11:00am Monday, April 1, 2013. Interment following at Fitzgerald Cemetery, Lakeland FL.

MULBERRY - Elizabeth M. Moore, passed away Wednesday May 1, 2013 at home from congestive heart failure. Elizabeth was born in Clyo, Ga. on October 13, 1920. Elizabeth married Paul Maynard Moore in 1939. Elizabeth & Paul moved to Mulberry in 1951. Elizabeth worked for the Polk. Co. School Board as a cook and a member of Mulberry United Methodist Church since 1952. > Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband Paul Moore and daughters Joy and Jackie. > She is survived by her son Johnny Paul Moore and his wife Barbara of Savannah, Ga., 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Being 1 of 12 brothers and sisters she has many surviving nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be Sat. May 4, 2013, at Mulberry United Methodist Church.  Funeral services will follow. She will be laid to rest at Fitzgerald Cemetery. TALLAHASSEE - Mr. Glen Alton Harper passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 from complications of diabetes, at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee. Glen Alton Harper was born February 12, 1956, in Lakeland to Virgil N. Harper and Joan Lovering Harper. Glen was an iron worker/welder. He was a member of the Iron Workers Union #397. He enjoyed woodworking, leather braiding, whip making and taxidermy. Glen loved hunting and fishing. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family.  Services for Mr. Harper will be held Friday, March 8, 2013, at Fitzgerald Cemetery in Lakeland. The Rev. Gary Shepherd will officiate. > Glen Harper is survived by his daughters Stacy and husband David Mattair of Cairo, GA, and Morgan Harper of Lakeland; father Virgil N. Harper and wife Vicki of Cairo, GA; grandchildren Phoenix and Elijah Mattair of Cairo, GA; and sister Diane Brooks of Ft.  Lakeland - ( Feb. 27, 1961 ) - Mrs. Addie Dossey died today at her home in Medulla, Lakeland Rt. 4. Addie was a native of Florida, she had lived in Medulla for 40 years. She was a member of Providence Primative Baptist Church.
> Survivors are, 3 daughters , Mrs. B. O. Colson and Mrs. Joe Henry, both of Plant City, and Mrs. Ora Dossey of Lakeland, 4 sons, Jackson J. Dossey of  Plant City, Willie W. Dossey of Lithia; Terrell T. and B. B. Dossey, both of Tampa; a brother, a sister, 11 grand and 19 great-grandchildren.  Elder R. C. Born June 7,1916 in Havana, FL, Mrs. Meeks has been a resident of the area 68 years. MEDULLA -- Mr. N. L. Raulerson Jr. of Medulla died of heart failure Thursday (Feb. 20, 2003) at home. He was born in Lakeland to the late Norman L. and Virtie Mae Holland Raulersonon April 18, 1919, he was a lifelong resident. He was a dryer operator for U.S. Agri-Chemicals. He was an Army Veteran. He was a millwright for Local No. 1000. He was an Army Veteran. WEST MELBOURNE - James W. Burris, of West Melbourne died on Wednesday April 29th, 2009 in Melbourne due to a heart attack. He retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee and moved to Melbourne in 1981 from Oak Ridge. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Melbourne and previously Central Baptist Church where he was an active volunteer. He attended the University of Tennessee where his studies were interrupted by his service in the Coast Guard in WW II. > Survivors include his wife Dot, sons John (Robin), Joel and Jerry, daughters Jill Smith and Janet Edmondson, step daughters Annette Peacock and Michele Glover, eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sisters Mary Mullling and Joan (Keith) Richardson. "Buster" was born December 28, 1952 in Lakeland and was a life resident of this area. Mrs. Dawson was a manager in retail sales. She was of the Baptist faith, loved the Lord and her family very much. She was born March 8, 1925 in Hudson, NC, a daughter of the late James Walter and Mattie King Cloer. >Mrs. Fair was a member of Loris First Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class. She was a resident of Lakeland, FL. for 55 years and was a longtime member of Medulla Baptist Church, serving in the nursery for 32 years. Mrs. Fair enjoyed spending time with children and was loved by all that knew her. She was a friend to many. LAKELAND -- Mrs. Agnes Kelbacher of Lakeland died of heart failure Friday (July 1, 2005) at Wedgewood Healthcare Center. She was born April 23, 1912, she was a resident of Polk County for 40 years. She was a waitress. She was a Baptist. >Mrs. Kelbacher was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Kelbacher. >She is survived by her 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. LAKELAND - Mack G. Long, Sr. died Jan. 7, 2010 at L.R.M.C. of heart failure. Mack was born in Hardee Town, FL. on July 22, 1919 to George & Cleo (Hardee) Long. Mack was an iron worker. STUART -- Mr. David "Louie" Lunn of Stuart died of pneumonia Saturday (Feb. 14, 2004) at Martin Memorial Hospital South, Stuart. He was born Dec. 30, 1921, in Bartow, he came here from Marathon in 1962. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a charter boat captain and a member of the Sail Fish Club in Stuart. He attended First Baptist Church in Stuart. > Mr. Lunn is survived by his wife, Linda Lunn; daughters, Diana Moree and Lila Lee Newberry, both of Lakeland, Melba June Naylor, York, Pa.; sons, Tommy David Lunn, Lakeland, Bennett C. Hare, Kansas City, Kanas; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday at Seigler Funeral Home, Mulberry. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fitzgerald Cemetery, Lakeland. 
>EMMA ATTENBURG - 88 - Attenburg Grocery 
LAKELAND -- For 68 years, Mrs. Emma Attenburg was a dedicated member of Medulla Baptist Church, where she attended Sunday school, morning and evening services and prayer services on Wednesday nights. "Never did she fail coming. I've never seen her not there," said her friend and fellow church member, Linda Grandstaff of Lakeland. "She had a smile for everyone and she loved everyone. She made it a point to keep up with everyone and find out how they were doing." The retired owner of Attenburg Grocery on South Florida Avenue died of heart failure Tuesday (July 20, 2004) at Oakbridge Health Care Center. She was born in Colquitt, Ga., on May 21, 1916, she came to Lakeland from there in 1935. She married Edward Attenburg in the 1930s. Beginning in the 1940s the couple owned and operated Attenburg Grocery, where Speedy's Bar and Grill is now, just south of the Polk Parkway. > "It was a gas station, grocery store back then. The store originally had the only beer consumption license. You could go in there and buy your groceries and walk around with an open beer and shop,"< said her grandson, Steve Boutwell of Lakeland. In addition to attending church, Mrs. Attenburg enjoyed traveling. "She often spoke of her travels to Hawaii, and especially her trip to the Holy Lands," Grandstaff said. "She was loved and will be missed by her family and her church. She was an inspiration to many." > Mrs. Attenburg was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Attenburg, in 1965. > She is survived by her sister, Eva Clyde Maddox, Lakeland, two grandsons and four greatgrandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Gentry-Morrison Southside Funeral Home.
