clerk for the Dade County Public Schools.) Two of her favorite
volunteer
activities were teaching Sunday school and being a Den mother for the
Cub Scouts. After her wedding on
October 16, 1955, at the Bible
Baptist Church in Miami, Florida,
she enjoyed 59 wonderful years of marriage
to Otis Jackson Bodiford, Jr. A
longtime resident
of Slidell, Louisiana, Mrs. Bodiford was a member of the Grace Memorial
Baptist Church there. Accepting Christ as her savior October 23, 1955,
she was baptized that night. She said she felt like a new person when
emerging from the Baptismal waters. She always enjoyed genealogy and
loved family get togethers, especially Thanksgiving. 'Grandma' to her
grandchildren, she was devoted to family, anticipating needs and warmly
supporting her extended family, including her children's spouses and
in-laws. Quiet and unassuming, Donna nevertheless embodied a strength
of character and encouraged others to live according to the highest
ideals. A wonderful role model as a parent, grandparent, and
great-grandparent, she will be sorely missed by all in her family. There will
be a
church service on Monday, October 13th, 2014, at Seigler Funeral Home
(863-425-1131), 1300 East Canal Street, Mulberry, Florida. Visitation
