FORREST AFTON EMMETT – 82 – Sheet Metal Worker - husband of Cathy Partin Emmett
LAKE WALES - Forrest 'Afton' Emmett  of Lake Wales, Florida, went home to the Lord on December 10, 2014.
Afton was born on January 5, 1932, in Lake Wales to parents Jesse Noel Emmett and Ellie Woods Emmett and was a resident of Lake Wales for his entire life. He wed Mary Catherine 'Cathy' (Partin) Emmett in 1952 and together they enjoyed 59 years of marriage.  A veteran of the Korean War,  Afton was a sheet metal worker by trade. He belonged to the Central Avenue Baptist Church where he served for many years as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. Along with his wife, Cathy, he enjoyed traveling to the mountains and the beach, as well as spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was much loved by his family and will be kindly remembered for his wit, tenacity and strong will. > His wife, Cathy Emmett, and son, Kevin Emmett, preceded him in death.  >  He is survived by daughters Marsha Kincaid (Alan) of Lake Wales, and Paula Peterson (Ronnie) of Lake Wales; son Keith Emmett (Sara) of Winter Haven; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 13, 2014, at Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Bolden officiating. Interment will be held at the Lake Wales Cemetery.  LAKE WALES - Cathy Emmett of Lake Wales passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011 at her residence, due to cancer. Born August 03, 1937 in Georgia, to the Late Jesse Daniel and Vera Lucille (Lott) Partin, she was a lifelong resident of the Lake Wales area. She was a Homemaker and a member of Central Avenue Baptist Church. A wonderful example of Christian love, she always went out of her way to help others. She was an accomplished cook, and her greatest pleasure was cooking and hosting Sunday dinners for her entire family every Sunday. She loved gardening, reading, cooking and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the loves of her life.

LAKE WALES -- Mr. Kevin Emmett of Lake Wales died of cancer Saturday (Jan. 25, 2003) at home. He was born April 17, 1961, in Lake Wales, he was a lifelong resident. He was the chef and food service director for Webber College and co-owner of and chef at Prime Time Catering. He graduated from the Southeastern Academy of Culinary Arts. He was a former Little League baseball coach. He belonged to Central Avenue Baptist Church of Lake Wales.  > Mr. Emmett  is survived by his wife, Maggie Emmett; daughter, Shara Ellen Emmett, West Palm Beach, Erin Emmett, Ohio; son, Eric Kaleb Emmett, Ohio; parents, Afton and Cathy Emmett, Lake Wales; brother, Keith Emmett, Winter Haven; and sisters, Paula Peterson and Marsha Kincaid, both of Lake Wales. Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lake Wales Cemetery. .Visitation will be Tuesday at the Marion Lake Wales Cemetery.
