LAKE WALES - Our father, Albert D. "A.D." Blanchard VI passed away from respiratory failure in the early morning hours of February 5th, 2013. Born on February 21st, 1929, Dad was preceded in death by his father, Albert D. Blanchard V; his mother, Alberta; and his wife of 40 years, Regina O. Blanchard, as well as his siblings, Francis Dwight Blanchard and Grace Blanchard.

"Dan" Blanchard VII, Jeffrey Dale Blanchard and Troy Allen Blanchard Sr. He will also be missed by his 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; his beloved cat, Thunder; as well as numerous extended family members.
Although stricken with polio at an early age, our dad maintained a positive outlook on life despite the physical limitations imposed upon him by that terrible disease. From an early age he defied all the doctor's dire predictions and he did much more than just survive - he thrived.
A lifelong resident of Lakeland, A.D. was self-employed for nearly all of his adult life as a dental technician. With the income from his Lakeland Dental Lab Crown and Bridge Department, he raised five children in a home on the shores of Lake Bonny. Later he moved the family to a home on a huge corner lot on the south side of town. After a long, successful career, A.D. retired and moved to the Shady Oaks Fish Camp on the shores of Lake Kissimmee where he enjoyed fishing with friends. In his later years, A.D. moved into the Rosalie Oaks neighborhood on the shores of Lake Rosalie where he made new friends and was visited frequently by members of his ever-growing family.
"We miss you dearly, Daddy," and will never forget your love of life and fierce determination to make the best of whatever hand life dealt you. Graveside services will be conducted Sat. at Griffin Cemetery, Lakeland, FL. -
