RHODEN PEACOCK - 89 - Beauty Salon Owner
CLERMONT- Dorothy 'Dottie' Louise Peacock passed away Friday, May 1,
2020 at 11:15 pm at Clermont Health and Rehabilitation in Clermont, FL,
after years of struggling with Parkinson's Disease. She was the daughter of Gladys and
Arnold Rhoden of Lake Buffum, FL.
She was born July 9, 1930, attended grade school in Frostproof, FL, and
graduated from Summerlin Institute High School in Bartow,
FL. She
was married to Huey Eugene Peacock; together they had 3 children:
Robert A., Eugenia L., and Gladys A. Peacock. Dorothy was
active
in Brownies and Girl Scouts in Bartow, FL. She and her husband were
bowlers and enjoyed fishing and playing cards with family and
friends. She became a cosmetologist before the family moved to
Cocoa Beach, FL. She later taught Cosmetology in Orlando, FL. She and
her husband returned to Polk County where she owned & operated
two
beauty salons of her own. When her husband Gene passed in 1989, she was
employed by Disney and did hair and make-up for Disney Parades and
video shoots. She loved her work. She was diagnosed with Parkinson's in
2016. >She is survived by her son Robert Arnold Peacock, and his
wife Sandika; her daughter, Gladys 'Gay' Ann Bleakney of Indialantic,
FL; her sister Doris Moore of Arcadia, FL; her brother Lewis Cordes
Rhoden of Fort Meade, FL and sister-in-law Ruthy Rhoden, wife of Arnold
Rhoden Jr. in Bartow, FL. Eight of her grandchildren who were a big
part of her life as well as 10 great - grandchildren and many nieces
and nephews whom she loved dearly. >She is preceded in death by
her
parents and husband, a daughter, Eugenia Louise Smith, a sister Mary
Margaret Rhoden of Frostproof FL, sister Dora Skipper of Auburndale,
FL, her brother Arnold Rhoden Jr of Bartow, FL; Nancy Rhoden, wife of
Lewis Cordes Rhoden and Irvin Moore, husband of Doris Moore of Arcadia,
FL, a grandson Michael Cleveland Grant, son of Eugenia Smith and
Cleveland Grant. Due to the COVID pandemic, the family is
having a
celebration of life and death on her birthday July 9, 2020; she would
have celebrated her 90th birthday. Memorial Services will be held at
Lake Buffum Baptist Church in Ft. Meade, FL., 6475 Lake Buffum Rd. S.
Ft. Meade, FL 33841. Services & fellowship will begin at 2pm on

Fort Meade- Charles E. "Chuck" Mosley, Jr. , passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 in Jackson, TN. Born May 31, 1965 in Avon Park, he was the son of Charles E. Mosley, Sr. and JoAnne (Truett) Mosley of Fort Meade. Chuck was a veteran of the U.S. Army
and worked for the Fort Meade Police Department, the Polk County
Sheriff's Office and Hardee County Sheriff's Office as a Deputy and
Officer. >He is survived by his daughters: Kay'Leigh Gomez (Jose), Kaycee Mosley, his parents Charles Mosley, Sr. and JoAnne Mosley, his siblings: Tony Mosley, C.J. Mosley and Jordan Roberts, He also leaves behind
his grandchildren: Luna, Da'Lana, Chellav, Kalani, and his nieces and
nephews: Jolene, Lorilei, Charlie and James. The family will receive friends on
Monday, June 28th from 10am to 11am at the First Baptist Church of Fort
Meade, A memorial service will follow at 11:00am at the church.-

BARTOW - Mrs. Audrey Moody Peacock passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 in Lakeland, FL. Mrs. Peacock was born December 12, 1933 in Fort Meade, FL, where she resided for many years before moving to Bartow in 1965. She
retired from the Polk County Office of the Clerk of Court after a long
37 year tenure as the Felony District Supervisor, and she also was a
member of Bartow Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, and a 1951 graduate of Fort Meade High School. >Mrs. Peacock was preceded in death by her parents, Chris Moody and Lola Mae Cooper Moody, brother, Ralph Moody, and her sister-in-law, June Peacock Shirley. >She is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 64 years, Duane C. Peacock, Bartow, FL; son, Jay Peacock, Frostproof, FL; daughter, Susan
Peacock and husband Mike Gleaton, Atlanta, GA; sister, Betty Moody
Speer and husband Ray, Fort Meade, FL; grandchildren, Elizabeth Peacock
and fiancé, Bryan Bulman, Tampa, FL, Jason Peacock and
fiancée, Paula Barchett, Texarkana, TX, Meredith Peacock,
Bartow, FL; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will
be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2021 in the chapel of
Hancock Funeral Home at 945 East Broadway, Fort Meade with Rev. Becky
Toalster officiating. Interment will follow in Hancock Cemetery, Fort
Meade, FL. All health standards of social distancing and the wearing of
