FROSTPROOF-Margaret
L. Smith, of Frostproof passed away Thursday, January 09, 2014 at the
Lake Wales Medical Center due to heart failure. She was
born
June 19, 1921 in Fort Meade, FL
to the late Charley &
Sally Bone; and she came here
from Haines City in 1937. She was
retired from Ben Hill Griffin and was a member of the First Baptist
Church since the 1940's. She was also a member of the First Baptist
Women's Club.
Margaret
was preceded in death by her husband,
James E. Smith and a
son, King Smith.
Survivors
include her sons, Craig Smith (Rosemary) of Frostproof and Jace Smith
(Linda) of Frostproof; brother, Ralph Blount of Frostproof; and two
grandchildren, Justin Smith and Chelle Smith.
Visitation
will be held from 2:00 pm until the funeral service at 3:00 pm
Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Frostproof
with Rev. Darrol Hood officiating. Interment will follow at Silver
Hill Cemetery. –

FROSTPROOF -- Mr.
James E. "Smitty" Smith
of Frostproof died Monday (Nov. 25, 2002) at Winter Haven Hospital.
Born in Rebecca, Ga., on Dec.
16, 1916, he came to
Frostproof
from Georgia in 1926. He worked
in motor vehicle inspection for
Polk County. He was a veteran of
World War II. He was a member
of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was a
member IMSA and SCCA racing clubs.
Mr.
Smith is survived by his wife,
Margaret Smith; sons,
King Smith, Craig Smith, Jace
Smith,
all of Frostproof.
Visitation will be Saturday at First Baptist Church of
Frostproof. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church W.M.U. heart

Smith,
of Frostproof passed away Monday, April 15, 2013 at the Lakeland
Regional Medical Center. He was born
October 19, 1947 in
Lake Wales and he was a lifelong
resident of the area. He was the
facilities manager for Polk County School Board,
a member of the
First Baptist Church in Frostproof and a veteran serving in the U.S.
Air Force. He and was named the 2013
Polk County Coach of the Year. He was
an exceptional father, very active in youth sports in Frostproof for
many years and was a retired race car driver. >coached
high
school softball and soccer for 8 years at Frostproof Middle-Senior High
School. >King was
preceded
in
death by his father, James
Elmer Smith. >Survivors
include
his
daughter, Chelle Smith; mother,
Margaret Smith; two brothers,
Craig Smith (Rosemary) and Jace Smith (Linda), nephew, Justin Smith;
and an uncle Ralph Blunt all of Frostproof. Visitation will be held
Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in
Frostproof. Funeral
service
will be
held 3:00 pm Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in
Frostproof with Rev. Darrol Hood officiating.
Interment
will
follow at
the Silver Hill Cemetery.
The family has asked that all of
King's past and present athletes sit in the reserved section at the

FORT MEADE - Franklin Thomas Bone, Sr., a native of Fort Meade,
FL was born April 17, 1916, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at
Lakeland
Regional Medical Center of natural causes. Mr. Bone worked for the Lumber Company and he was a member of
First
Baptist Church of Fort Meade. > He is survived by his two daughters, Martha & Bill Boyette of
Lakeland, FL., and Frances Cannon of Columbia, SC., one son, Franklin
T. & Gail Bone, Jr. of Fort Meade, FL., one sister,
Margaret Smith of Frostproof,
FL., one brother, Ralph Blount of Frostproof, FL., nine grandchildren,
fourteen great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by McLean Funeral Home, 306 East
Broadway, Fort Meade, FL. The visitation will be Sunday at McLean
Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Monday at 11 am at the
funeral home. Interment will be at Pleasant
