Edward Oliver Flood

 Edward Oliver Flood, 72, of Lakeland and Frostproff, died at his home this morning at 11:15 after an illness of three months.
 Mr.Flood had undergone an operation in Tampa Municipal Hospital about 10 weeks ago.  Mr. Flood had returned to his home about at 524 East Orange St. 4 weeks ago and was considered to be out of danger. His death this morning was reported caused by a heart attack.
 Edward Oliver Flood was born in Old Ross, Ireland, and came to this country with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Luke Dredin Flood, when he was 10 years old. The family settled in Fort Meade. In later years Mr. Flood became president of the State Bank of Fort Meade.
  In 1902 the bank was moved here, becoming the State Bank of Lakeland. In 1916 Edward Flood sold his interest in the institution to enter the cattle industry. He had been a large holder of citrus interest for many years.
  Mr. Flood is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lula Virginia Flood; three daughters; Mrs. Marie F. Davis, Mrs. Aileen F.Bedford and Mrs. Ruth F. Smith, all of Lakeland; A son, Luke D.Flood of Chester, N.J.; and the former Miss Josephine Bedford, Ralph Davis and Barbara Smith, of Lakeland.
 He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Percy R.Rogers of Frostproof, and five brothers, F.L.D.Flood, W.H.Flood, and Harry V.Flood, of Frostproof, Ben W.Flood of Fort Lauderdale and C.C.Flood of Fort Meade.  Mr. Flood was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Lakeland.
 Funeral arrangements are pending the arrival of the son, Luke, and the grand-daughter, Mrs. Moore, both of New Jersey, and will be announced later by Snook Funeral Home.

Flood Rites:
 Funeral services for Edward O.Flood, who died Monday, were held this morning at 10:30 at the Snook Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Russell Carlton, pastor of the Bartow Episcopal Church and the Rev. J. H. Whitney, assistant pastor of All Saints Episcopal Church, officated.
 Pallbearers were;
Seidel Flood, Eddie Flood, Milton Wooley, Frank Backus, Leonard Nixon, Alpheus Langford and Walter Holloway.
 Interment was at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
