AUBURNDALE - Mrs. Pauline Bennett, a resident of Auburndale passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Good Shepherd Hospice with her family at her side. Mrs. Bennett was born Nov. 16, 1943 in Cullman, AL, to Oliver Roscoe & Alice Roberta (Sims) Holt. She was a Polk Co. resident since the 1950s coming from AL. Pauline graduated from Winter Haven High School Class of 1961 and was a retired Lab Tech for Coca Cola. She was a member of Inman Park Baptist Church in Winter Haven, Sunday School Teacher and a Certified Home Health Care Helper. Pauline enjoyed cooking, socializing and being with her family. > She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and half-brothers.husband Leo Bennett; >  Pauline is survived by: 2 daughters: Julie Whitney of Auburndale, Susan Barfield (Leo) of Winter Haven, brother: Edward R. AUBURNDALE - Kathryne Louise Wilcox Dickey, born April 26, 1918; died June 17, 2016. Kathryne was born in Augusta, Ga. and is predeceased by her husband Alfred Reginald 'Reggie' Dickey, he and a r parents Rudy & Louise Wilcoxsister Martha Wilcox Proctor. >She leaves behind a family that loved her very much: a son Alfred Reginald 'Reg' Dickey Jr. (Sonja), a niece Donna Proctor Stewart (Ronnie), two grandchildren, Ann Marie Conti (Ryan) and David Wilcox Dickey (Aubrey) and seven great grandchildren: Peyton John Conti, Ryan MacLaine Conti, Lucas Anthony Conti, Madeline Louise Dickey, Annabelle Lynn Dickey, Maddox Andrew Dickey and Hudson David Dickey. > In 1925, the family moved to Auburndale where her Dad built an ice plant. Kathryne attended local schools graduating from Auburndale High School in 1936. She then enrolled in Augusta Junior College, graduating with honors in 1938. After graduation, she returned to Auburndale taking additional courses at Lakeland Business College. Upon completion, she accepted the position of secretary to the Auburndale City Manager. Kathryne was active in several Women's organizations, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She lived in the family home on Lake Ariana Boulevard until her death. She out lived many of her close friends, loved her family, thanked God each day for her long life and would readily talk about how proud she was of her 'Auburndale' and all the changes she has witnessed thru the years. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 23, at First Presbyterian Church, 410 Pilaklakaha Avenue, Auburndale. Visitation at the church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Winter Haven. Arrangements by Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale, FL.

Juanita Hudson, a resident of Auburndale, passed away Monday, April 21, 2008, at her residence due to Heart Failure. > Mrs. Hudson was born March 23, 1924, in Winter Haven, to Corsa and Lettye (Wingate) Hammond. She was a lifetime Polk County resident, a member of the Parkview Baptist in Lakeland and a past volunteer for the pink ladies auxiliary for Morrow Hospital in Auburndale. She was a retired telephone operator. >She was preceded in death by her parents. > Juanita is survived by her loving family; her husband of 62 years, Bud Hudson of Auburndale; a son, Philip (Brenda) Hudson of Rincon, Ga, two daughters, Rebecca H. LAKELAND - Mr. Macon L. "Bud" Hudson, (Oct. 26, 1921), died Tuesday (July 13, 2010) of renal failure at the Savannah Court of Lakeland. > Mr. Hudson was a native of Fullers Crossing, Florida and had been a resident of our community since 1960, coming from Winter Haven. He served as a Minister of Music for many area churches over 50 years. He was a retired property appraiser for Polk County, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of WWII and was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church in Lakeland.  >He was preceded in death by his wife Juanita H. Hudson. > include two Survivorsdaughters Rebecca H. (Wayne) Combee and Deborah H. Castles, both of Lakeland; son Philip (Brenda) Hudson of Rincon, GA; sister Gertrude Newton of Columbia, SC; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday at Kersey Funeral Home, 108 E. Lake Stella Dr., Auburndale. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday. AUBURNDALE - Mr. Robert Allen McLendon a resident of Auburndale passed away April 24, 2017. Mr. McLendon was born Feb. 4, 1955 in Orlando to William and Helen (Evans) McLendon. He was a resident for 40 yrs. coming from Texas. Robert graduated from Auburndale High School Class of 1973 and retired from Polk County as a Traffic Operations Clerk.  He attended Lena Vista Baptist Church and Ridgepoint Church. Robert enjoyed fishing, woodworking and being with his family. >He was preceded in death by his parents and twin sister Robin. >Robert is survived by his loving family: wife of 24yrs: Susan McLendon of Auburndale, daughter: Megan McLendon of Sarasota, 2 stepdaughters: Brandi Quaas and husband Daniel Hamilton of Lakeland, Amanda Quaas and husband Dietrich Nembhard of Redmond, WA, brother: Bill McLendon and wife Barbara of Ft. AUBURNDALE - Mrs. Juanita Mills Jones a resident of Auburndale, passed away Sun. March 1, 2020 at Good Shepherd Hospice surrounded by her family. Ms. Jones was born June 14, 1949, in Winter Haven to Hayward Carl and Ramona Louise (Stokes) Mills. She was a lifetime resident of Auburndale, graduated from Auburndale High School Class of 1967. In the late 1960s, Louise, Juanita's mom started Ramona's Beauty Salon, then after graduating from Mr. Dell's Beauty School in the late 1970s, Juanita joined her mom.  Juanita was the Owner/Operator of Ramona's Beauty Salon in Auburndale. She was a member of the First Baptist Church at the Mall in Lakeland. She enjoyed fishing, going to the beach, traveling and spending time with her family. She was>  preceded in death by her parents.  >Juanita is survived by her loving family: 2 sons: Shawn (Cindy) Crumley of Auburndale and Joshua Roberts, both of Auburndale, daughter Shannon (Charlie) Johnson of Polk City; brother Lamar Mills of Auburndale; close family friend Stephen Moles of Auburndale and 6 grandchildren: Dakota, Noah, Colton, Mason, Maddyson & Melody. A Memorial service will be 5:00 pm Thursday, March 12th at Lena Vista Baptist Church, 213 Florida Dr., Auburndale. AUBURNDALE - Mrs. Shirley Faye Cason, a resident of Auburndale passed away Sun. 7/3/16 at Lakeland Regional. Mrs. Cason was born Feb. 25, 1947 in Lakeland, to Henry & Virginia (Powell) Williams. She was a lifetime Polk Co. resident. She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed puzzles, collecting salt & pepper shakers and loved spending time with her family.> She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons Leman R. Alderman & Henry James Alderman and 2 brothers. >Shirley is survived by her loving family: companion: Steve Gardner of Auburndale, 4 daughters: Belinda Gail Waddle, Janice Faye Luiacono, Bonnie Alderman, all of Lakeland, Cassandra Romero of Wahneta, brother: Danny (Sandy) Williams of MO, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grands.
