Winter Garden, Almeida passed away Saturday, February 25, 2005, at Health Central Park of Winter Garden. She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, Pink Ladies ORMC, Calloway Family Association and the Garden Club of Orlando. She was a past Chairperson for the American Red Cross and former PTA member of the Cherokee Junior High School. In 1972, she received the Distinguish Service Award from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. She has been a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Downtown Orlando since 1944. She was born in Atlanta, GA on April 4, 1913, came to FL in 1932. She was married to the late H.H. Parrish for over 72 years.
She is survived by her son, Herschel, Jr.; and wife, Sandra, Winter Garden; daughter, Sylvia Costin, Port St. Joe; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

AUBURNDALE - Benjamin "Benny" Thomas Parrish, 71, died Sunday, September 2, 2007 at Auburndale Oaks Nursing Home due to pneumonia. Born October 26, 1935 in Tampa, FL to Enoch and Frances Louise Parrish, he moved to Auburndale 28 years ago. He was a retired Plant Manager for Dial Corp in Auburndale and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of: Winter Haven Masonic Lodge #186 F & AM; Trident Club of Tampa Bay; American Legion Post #8 in Winter Haven; the Winter Haven Moose Lodge # 1023; and the 82nd Airborne Division Assn.
Preceded in death by his parents, Ben is survived by: his beautiful and loving wife of 33 years, Margaret Parrish; 2 sons, Mark Parrish of Tampa, FL and Samuel Parrish of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl; 2 daughters, Wendy Parrish of Winter Haven and Anna Marie Torres of Auburndale; a brother, Donald Parrish of Tampa; and 8 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven, Fl. Masonic Services will be held during this time.

TARPON SPRINGS -- Mrs. Jean Woodall Parrish of Tarpon Springs, a native of Lakeland, died of complications of Parkinson's disease Thursday (Feb. 6, 2003) at home. She was born in Lakeland on Aug. 12, 1925, she moved to Tapron Springs from here. She was a radio announcer and hostess of the first woman's program on WLAK radio.
During the late 1940’s and early 1950’s, she interviewed many stars making movies in Central Florida. She was the first president of the U.S. Fleet Wives' Club in Villefrenche, France. She was president of the Junior Woman's Club.
Mrs. Parrish is survived by her husband, Harvey Scott "Scotty" Parrish; daughters, Hope Higgs, Chris Pearce, both of Tarpon Springs; son, Larry Parrish, Cape May, N.J.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Burial Park. LAKELAND - James Ernest Parrish,passed away on Aug 12, 2010 due to heart failure. He was born in Monmouth Il on July 22, 1922 to Frank and Eulalia Parrish.
At 20 he joined the United States Navy and proudly served for over 20 years in both Korean Conflict and World War II. He married Lois Helen Smith in Chicago on October 13, 1945. In 1964 the family settled in Lakeland where he worked with Navy friend, Ralph Rust, to open Crown Printing and later working at Davey McKee. He was an active charter member of Presbyterian Church in the Highlands and enjoyed serving others at Talbot House. In addition, he participated in volunteer work at The Estates at Carpenter's for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Lou Quick.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Lois, son James W Parrish (Cathy), Simpsonville, SC and daughter Joyce Powell (Bill), Lakeland. Four grandchildren James Parrish, Cristan Latty, Katharine Parker and Kenneth Clayton and 4 great-grandchildren, Jackson Parrish, Camden Parrish, Rylan Clayton and Richard Latty III.

WINTER HAVEN - Mr. George Hayes "Dick" Parrish, a resident of Winter Haven, FL passed away Friday, April 24, 2009 at his daughter's home with family due to Cancer. Mr. Parrish was born October 27, 1934 in Houston County, Alabama to Willis and Maud (Mercer) Parrish.
Dick and his wife have been residences of Polk County since 1974. He was a former member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Auburndale, he also had attended the Victory Freewill Baptist Church in Auburndale. He retired from W.R. Grace Company as a Supervisor and was also a retired truck driver. Dick was a former member of the Winter Haven Skeet & Gun Club, avid fisherman and loved to hunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters - Christine Parrish and Gail Hill; and 1 brother - Bill Parrish.

LAKELAND - Betty Sue Jones Parrish, died Sunday, December 21, 2014, of heart disease at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Lakeland. She was retired from the Department of Transportation.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Artell and Juanita Jones; brother, Ivey T. Jones and son, Scott Parrish.
She is survived by her children, Lori Goff (Lenn), Michael Parrish (Tanya), Jeff Parrish (Marlo); 10 grand children and 4 great grand children. LAKELAND- Damon "Wild Bill" Walker Parrish, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014, as a result of natural causes. Mr. Parrish was born October 3, 1921 in Farmington, WV.
He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, where he served as a B-25 pilot in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
Mr. Parrish worked for J&L Steel in Pittsburgh, PA for five years and then went to work for Parrish and Bowman, his family's carpentry business, where he remained until his retirement.
Mr. Parrish is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Ruth B. Parrish; daughters, Chris Galinat and her husband, Rich, Kathy Fetherlin and her husband, John, and Cookie Quarles and her husband, Dave; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson.
Mr. Parrish's family will receive friends Monday, March 10, 2014 at Lakeland Funeral Home at 2125 South Bartow Highway in Lakeland. WINTER HAVEN - Dykes Parrish, of Winter Haven, FL passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Hospice resident Center in Auburndale due to heart failure. Born Oct. 14, 1933 in Coffee County, AL he was a diesel mechanic for McDonalds Construction of Lakeland, FL for 32 years.
He was the Pastor of Lake Pierce Baptist Church of Lake Wales for 17 years. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be missed.

CHIEFLAND - George Dale Parrish, born September 23, 1930 in Brewster, FL, and passed away on October 8, 2007 in Chiefland, FL. of heart failure. George was hired by the ACL Railroad who merged with SCL Railroad which became CSX Railroad and ended up retiring after 37 years of service. He loved flying and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha K. Parrish of Chiefland, one son Bruce Parrish (Kathy) of Lacey, Washington, six daughters, Georgia Johnson (Robert), Peggy Ammerman (Nick), Frances Houston (Dana), and Suzie Fitzgerald, all of Plant City, Patty Shiver (Mike), and Mary "Terry" Greer (Ron), both of Lakeland, one sister Barbara Eldredge (Marshall) of Yalaha, FL, brother Donald Parrish (Ann) of Plant City, twelve grandchildren and many good friends.
