  H. A. ( Laddie ) DURRANCE, passed away at home September 11, 2011. Laddie was born in Bradenton, Fl., June 23, 1925. He was the 3rd. generation Manatee County Native.
 Laddie is survived by wife, Julia; sons Hank ( Susie ) , Buck ( Chevelle ), grandchildren, Savannah ( Justin ) Goss, Trent and Chisum Durrance and Jessica McVey and 2 great grandchildren, Blaine and Bailen. He is also surived by brothers, Donald ( Christine ) Durrance, Ned Durrance and sister Pat Durrance Rich.
 Laddie was a Church Deacon, Choir director and Sunday School teacher at Gillette Baptist Church where he was a member for 40 years. Laddie was an Army Veteran and a long term member of both the Manatee County Farm Bureaus and Manatee County Cttleman's Association where he served on the City of Palmetto Planning and Zoning Board for 30 years, several times as chairman and vice-chairman. As well as being a well known rancher he was a long time Palmetto businessman most remembered as the owner of the Palmetto Shell and Unocal Station. He loved his family, the lord, the land and his country
 Laddie is preceded in death by; son Buddy and his parents Harry and Faye Durrance.
 Visitation was held Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, with services following at the First Baptist Church of Gillette.
